Butterfly Barn is believed to date back to the 16th or early 17th-century. Constructed with traditional oak beams, it has a high vaulted ceiling in the main living area and is heavily beamed throughout the kitchen and two upstairs bedrooms.
Originally thatched and built on dirt, it now has solid foundations, with a clay peg tile and slate roof as part of its 2008 renovation.
The barn is on three levels: the living area and kitchen step-down to the main entrance hall, off of which is the utility room, downstairs cloakroom and two bedrooms; the living area and kitchen also step-up to the two upstairs bedrooms.
Butterfly Barn is set within the grounds of the owners’ home, and both properties are accessed via gates at the top of a private drive, so the property is secluded and away from the main road.
