The living area consists of a large vaulted and heavily beamed space of some 600 square feet, and there is underfloor-heating beneath the light oak boards.
There is a large floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace with a modern wood burning stove. To one side of the living space is a separate dining area with a ten-seater dining table.
There is a separate study with a desk, swivel chair and computer, there is also a double sofa bed and bed linen that could be used to make an additional bedroom.
The lounge area comprises four sofas, a coffee table and a 55” flat screen television mounted on the wall. There is an audio system throughout the living area and kitchen that can be linked to personal devices via Bluetooth, and double French Doors open onto the garden.
Butterfly Barn is comprised of four large double bedrooms, all with their own en-suite, two on the first floor and two situated on the ground floor. All bedrooms are furnished with white Egyptian bed linen, the pillows and duvets are Synthetic Active Anti-Allergy. All bedrooms are equipped with wardrobes, bedside reading lights, alarm clocks, hair dryers and luggage storage racks.
Located on the ground floor is the master bedroom, which has a vaulted ceiling and a super king-size bed, bed side tables and a chest of drawers, a large railed walk-in wardrobe with hanging rails, and the en-suite has a large corner bath and incorporates a wet room.
On the ground floor with a king size bed, matching wardrobe and bedside furniture, there is also an additional single bed, the room has en suite with wet room, the double French Doors lead onto a small paved area and access to the garden.
Directly at the top of the landing, the room is heavily beamed and semi vaulted. This room is furnished with a king-size bed, bedside chest of drawers and matching wardrobe, and the en-suite has a bath and shower cubicle.
Accessed along a corridor from the upstairs landing, the bedroom has a high vaulted ceiling and is heavily beamed. There is a king size bed, single bed wardrobe and bed side chest of drawers, and the en-suite has a shower cubicle.
Behind the brick fireplace is the spacious slate-floored kitchen with marble work surfaces and handmade base and wall units throughout.
There is an oil-fired four-oven Aga that is housed within the brick chimney, and the kitchen also benefits from a central island that has an adjourned breakfast table at one end.
The kitchen is well equipped with a double-sink, dishwasher, ample storage, granite work surfaces, and there is a large double fridge freezer with cold water dispenser.
The kitchen houses a full range of Aga pans and baking trays, as well as a twelve-piece dinner set with plenty of glass tumblers and wine glasses. There is a toaster, a kettle and a dishwasher in the kitchen.
The garden has a patio area directly outside the lounge, which has a table and chairs, a Webber BBQ, and if required there is a sun shade sail.
The garden is approximately 50 metres wide and 20 metres deep with a small shed for storage for bikes. There is a secure fence around the perimeter with a pedestrian gate that leads to the drive, hedges surround the garden so it’s very private and not overlooked.
There is also a fully-functional utility room with sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board and plenty of hanging space for airing, washing or wet clothing, there is plenty of space for wet boots and coat storage.
To the front of the property there is a block paved area for five to six vehicles.
The barn and its garden are surrounded by the owners’ private grounds; to the front there is an area of lawn with fruit trees, and to the rear are paddocks that are occupied by our very friendly and inquisitive horses through the spring and summer months.
Please note: Outside the curtilage of the barn is a pond and running along the back of the owners’ garden is a stream. Whilst both these areas are out of bounds, guests should ensure young children are kept within the delineated and fenced areas always for their own safety.
There is a yoga studio on site, though this is not part of the normal rental. If you are interested in using this space, please make an enquiry, though please note that this will involve an additional cost.
